| Ashton Boatworks as founded with the simple mission to build a beautiful, maintenance free, easy-to-use, eco-friendly craft. The folks at Ashton Boatworks own numerous pontoon boats and have been operating them lifelong. One of the requirements for this craft was immediate water time. We have always marveled at the amount of time it takes to cover and uncover a pontoon boat. The covers on this craft slip on and off easily and you can be on the water in mere seconds. If you prefer, you can just slip off the cover and have extended dock space for entertaining. This boat is truly plug and play operational. Just plug the boat in at the end of the day and you are set to go. No need for any petroleum products and it cost just pennies a day to operate. Our boats are extremely strong and meant to weather the toughest outdoor elements. All the wood on the craft is an alluring and durable Ipe wood. Ipe has been given the highest durability rating by the U.S. Forest Products laboratory. Ipe wood is so dense that it is given a class A fire rating, the same rating given to concrete and steel. Ipe lasts 20+ years untreated and 50+ with a deck sealer applied occasionally. The pontoons are of highest quality, made from aluminum magnesium alloy that are resistant to both fresh and saltwater corrosion. Propulsion is taken care of by Lenco marines, dual digital drive system. This system uses two transom mounted motors for a 164lbs of thrust. The joy stick mounted to the chair handle is rated IP68 (3 feet submersible). The joy stick offers 360 degree steering with infinitely variable speed control, cruise control, built-in system check and battery meter, motor position switch with indicator. This boat truly turns on a dime and docks with extreme ease. The boat shown on this website is a 14' prototype. The boats that we are currently offering are slightly different than shown (see schematics). The boat is two feet longer 16’, and seats four comfortably. There is a bench chair that seats three across. Another nice feature is the ability to sit next to the captain of the boat. However, if you would like a divider between people, simply fold down the middle backrest for a second armrest that includes built-in beverage holders. There is a table and storage compartment that doubles as an extra chair for two with backrests. 16' foot models are currently being constructed. See schematics. |
